Galatians 5:22-23
,NIV“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Context
Paul lists self-control as the last fruit of the Spirit in a letter to a church famous for doing whatever it wanted. He calls it fruit, not achievement. Fruit grows slowly, from a rooted tree, not from trying harder.
For your life
If self-control feels impossible, that is because it is not a solo project. It is something that grows in you over seasons. What would change if you treated your worst habit as soil, something to grow out of, not a verdict?
