Beneath the Noise of Uncertainty

Key Verse · Mark 9:24 (NIV)
“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
Doubt can feel like the ultimate spiritual failure. We're expected to be rock-solid, unwavering, always 'on.' But what about when the questions start creeping in?
The father in Mark 9 is often overlooked. He's the one who brought his possessed son to Jesus, begging for help. And when Jesus asks if he believes, he says something raw and honest.
“'If you can?' said Jesus. 'Everything is possible for one who believes.' Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, 'I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!'”
This is not the language of certainty. This is the language of 'I'm not sure, but I'm willing to try.' It's the recognition that faith and doubt are not mutually exclusive.
Maybe your doubt doesn't look like a crisis of faith. Maybe it's just the quiet, nagging questions that keep you up at night. Either way, the invitation is the same: bring it to God, not in spite of your uncertainty, but because of it.
