Finding Stress Relief in the Chaos

Written by

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Stress can be overwhelming, making it hard to breathe, think, or even move. It's like being stuck in a never-ending cycle of anxiety and pressure.

Jesus' invitation in Matthew 11:28-30 is a powerful reminder that we don't have to face stress alone. He offers us rest, but what does that look like in the midst of chaos?

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Notice the phrase 'learn from me.' It's an invitation to relearn how to live, how to prioritize, and how to find rest in the midst of stress. It's not about avoiding stress, but about finding a new way to carry it.

So, what's one thing you can let go of today? One task, one worry, one expectation that's weighing you down? Give it to God, and take a step towards finding rest in the chaos.

God, I'm overwhelmed and exhausted. Help me find rest in the chaos, and teach me to prioritize my well-being. I want to learn from you, and find a new way to carry the stress and pressure. Amen.

When this hits in real life.
