Peace in the Uncertain Places

Written by

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

Life is full of unknowns. Some days, the uncertainty feels like a weight that's crushing you. Other days, it's a nagging voice in the back of your mind.

The prophet Isaiah wrote to people who were facing exile, war, and displacement. They were uncertain about their future, just like we are about ours.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.”

Isaiah 26:3-4

The promise of peace isn't based on our ability to control the future. It's based on our trust in God's character.

So, what does it mean to have a 'steadfast mind'? It means choosing to focus on God's faithfulness, even when everything else feels uncertain.

God, I'm tired of feeling uncertain about everything. Help me trust in your character, even when the future feels unclear. Give me a steadfast mind, and keep me in perfect peace. Amen.

When this hits in real life.
