Anchored in Chaos

Written by

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

Life can get loud. The news, social media, our own thoughts. It's easy to get lost in the noise and feel like peace is a distant memory.

The prophet Isaiah wrote to a people in exile, surrounded by uncertainty and fear. He reminded them that peace isn't the absence of chaos, but the presence of God in it.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”

Isaiah 26:3-4

The word 'steadfast' isn't about being unshakeable, it's about being anchored. It's about trusting that God is the Rock that holds us, even when everything else feels like it's falling apart.

So what does it look like to be anchored in chaos? It looks like trusting God, not just with the big things, but with the small, everyday things too.

God, I feel overwhelmed by the noise and chaos around me. Help me to trust you, to be anchored in you, even when everything else feels uncertain. Give me peace, not because my circumstances change, but because you are my Rock. Amen.

When this hits in real life.
