Beyond the Masks We Wear

By the Pace with Grace editorial team

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We wear masks to hide, to protect, to fit in. But what happens when the masks we wear start to define us?

The Bible talks about being transformed into God's image. But what does that even mean?

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Freedom is not about being perfect, it's about being ourselves, without the need for masks. It's about being transformed into the image of God, who loves us just as we are.

So, what mask are you wearing today? Is it the mask of perfection, the mask of confidence, or the mask of invisibility?

God, I'm tired of wearing masks. I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not. Help me to find freedom in being myself, to be transformed into your image, and to live without the need for masks. Amen.
