When Purpose Feels Like a Mystery

By the Pace with Grace editorial team

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Finding purpose can feel like chasing shadows. You're constantly asking yourself, 'What am I supposed to be doing?' It's easy to feel lost in a world that constantly demands clarity and direction.

This verse from Jeremiah was written to exiled Israelites. They were feeling uncertain, stripped of their dreams and home. God reminds them that He has a plan, even when everything seems chaotic. It's a message of hope when you feel stuck.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

Just like the Israelites, your purpose isn't always clear. It's okay to not have it all figured out. Sometimes, it's about taking small steps forward. Engage in activities that light you up. Volunteer, create, connect. Those moments can reveal pieces of your purpose.

Remember, purpose often unfolds over time. It's less like a light bulb moment and more like a slow sunrise. Trust the process, and allow yourself to explore what brings you joy and fulfillment.

God, I often feel lost when it comes to my purpose. I want clarity, but I also know I need to trust the journey. Help me embrace the mystery and follow the small joys that lead me closer to my calling. Amen.

When this hits in real life.
