Finding Peace in the Midst of Chaos

By the Pace with Grace editorial team

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Chaos is loud. It screams for your attention, demanding you to react, to respond, to fix it. But in the midst of all that noise, Jesus offers a different way.

He doesn't promise to remove the chaos. He promises to give you peace in it. Not the kind of peace the world gives, which is often just a temporary distraction or a numbing of emotions.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

This peace is not about the absence of trouble. It's about the presence of God in the trouble. It's the difference between being alone in the storm and being with someone who has been through worse storms.

So, how do you find this peace? You start by acknowledging the noise, by recognizing the chaos for what it is. Then, you look for God in it, not for a way out of it.

God, I'm overwhelmed. The noise is loud, and I'm tired. I need your peace, not the kind the world gives, but the kind that comes from you. Help me find you in the chaos. Amen.

When this hits in real life.
