Living with Hope When the Future Is Uncertain
Written by OJ Aihie
Key Verse · Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
The future can be overwhelming, especially when it feels uncertain. We worry about what's next, and whether we'll be able to handle it.
But here's the thing: we don't have to face the future alone. We have a God who promises to be with us, no matter what.
“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Notice that God's plans for us are to prosper us, not to harm us. He wants to give us hope and a future, even when the future feels uncertain.
So how can we live with hope when the future is uncertain? We can start by seeking God with all our heart, and trusting that he will listen to us and guide us.
