By the Pace with Grace editorial team

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

What if I fail? What if I embarrass myself? What if I let everyone down? Anxiety often spins a web of endless what-ifs. It can feel suffocating, like you're stuck in a loop.

This verse from Matthew was shared by Jesus during a time when people were overwhelmed with fear. They faced political unrest, economic hardship, and personal struggles, just like us. It's relatable, right?

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:34

Jesus isn't dismissing our worries. He's inviting us to focus on today. The future is uncertain, but today is real. It's a reminder that we don't have to carry tomorrow's burdens on today's shoulders.

A simple way to combat anxiety is to practice grounding techniques. Acknowledge your feelings. Write down your worries. Then, focus on one small thing you can control today, whether it's going for a walk or reaching out to a friend.

God, I'm tired of being trapped in my worries. The what-ifs swirl in my mind, making it hard to breathe. Help me to focus on the moment and find peace in today. I trust you with tomorrow. Amen.
