Beyond the Masks We Wear

By the Pace with Grace editorial team

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We all wear masks. Some to fit in, some to stand out, some to hide. But what happens when the mask becomes the identity?

The Bible talks about a different kind of transformation. Not one that changes who you are, but one that reveals who you truly are.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Freedom is not about becoming someone else, it's about becoming the true you. Without the pressure of expectations, without the weight of pretenses.

So, what would it look like to take off the masks, to be unveiled, and to let the Spirit transform you into your true self?

God, I'm tired of wearing masks. I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not. Help me find the freedom to be me, to be unveiled, and to let your Spirit transform me into my true self. Amen.
