Hope in the Waiting

“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Do you ever feel like you're just stuck? Waiting for something to change, something to shift? Many of us find ourselves in seasons where hope feels like a distant memory.

The book of Lamentations was written during a painful time for Israel. Their city lay in ruins, and everything felt lost. Yet, right in the middle of that despair, the author reminds us of hope.

“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:21-23

Hope is not about ignoring reality. It's a choice to remember that there is more to the story. It's believing that things can get better, even when everything seems dark.

One step you can take today is to list three things you are grateful for. It could be as simple as a friend who texts you or a favorite song. Gratitude can revive hope.

It's okay to feel lost. It's okay to wait. But remember that hope is always available to you, waiting to be claimed, even in the hardest times.

God, I often feel stuck and unsure of what's next. I don't always know how to find hope in the waiting. Help me to see your faithfulness and to trust in your timing. Remind me that hope is available, even when it feels distant. Amen.
